What to know
Editorial purpose
Cheru publishes useful, property-relevant reporting for people making decisions in Kenya. News reports verified events and facts; Analysis interprets verified evidence and is labelled so readers can distinguish it from straight reporting.
Sourcing and attribution
Source-based and mixed reporting names and links public sources where it is safe and appropriate. Cheru verifies that structured sources are valid and records what our reporting independently adds. AI output is never treated as a source.
Original reporting
Original work may be based on interviews, site visits, direct observation, Cheru datasets, public-record inspection or direct company communication. Private reporting notes document that basis without forcing confidential or first-hand work into a misleading public URL.
Cheru data and Research
When reporting uses Cheru inventory or market data, we describe the relevant basis and limitations. Formal Research has a separate publication contract and methodology disclosure; editorial coverage does not replace a Research report's stated methodology.
Fact checking and authors
News and Analysis must be verified before publication and carry a named, publicly identifiable author. Authors are accountable for clear attribution; Cheru and the named or reviewing humans retain editorial responsibility.
Corrections and material updates
Send suspected errors through our Contact page. Confirmed errors are corrected with a visible correction note where appropriate. Material changes to verified work require re-verification. Publication dates are server-recorded; a meaningful content update may show a separate updated date rather than resetting the original date.
Images and credits
Images are used only when they add value. Images require descriptive alternative text, and externally sourced images require a credit. Cheru does not fabricate imagery merely to satisfy a publishing or search requirement.
AI-assisted work
AI tools may assist workflow where appropriate, but AI output is never itself treated as a source. Facts must be independently verified. Editorial responsibility remains with Cheru and the named or reviewing humans; automated tools do not publish, rewrite or assign stories.
Commercial separation
Advertising, listings, partnerships and commercial relationships do not remove Cheru's sourcing, verification or correction requirements. Search performance is observational and does not decide what may be published.
Contact for corrections
Use the Contact page to report a factual concern, include the story URL and explain the issue. We review specific, evidenced correction requests and preserve the distinction between a correction and a normal material update.
