This Privacy Policy explains how Cheru collects, uses and protects personal information when you use cheru.co.ke, create an account, use property tools, make an enquiry or communicate with us.

Depending on how you use Cheru, we may collect information you provide directly, including your name, email address, phone number, account details, enquiries, property submissions, saved activity and communication preferences.

We may also collect property and usage information, including locations, property attributes, Estimate inputs and results, searches, pages and properties viewed, device or browser information, and anonymous identifiers used to understand sessions and returning use.

We collect information when you submit it to Cheru, use our services, interact with listings or tools, save activity, sign in, or communicate with us. We may also receive technical information through cookies, browser storage, analytics services, maps and location-search providers.

We use information to provide and improve Cheru, operate accounts and saved features, generate Estimate results, respond to enquiries and submissions, maintain security, understand how the platform is used, measure marketing and product performance, and meet applicable legal obligations.

Account information and saved activity may be stored so that you can sign in, save properties and searches, manage alerts and continue using features across visits. Supabase provides Cheru's authentication and database infrastructure.

When you use Cheru Estimate, we process the property and location details you provide together with relevant market evidence to generate and record the result. Cheru records selected first-party usage events to understand product performance and operate the service. We also use Google Analytics 4 through Google Tag Manager to understand traffic, acquisition and how visitors use Cheru.

We limit the information sent through our Google Analytics integration and do not intentionally send names, email addresses, phone numbers or Cheru's first-party visitor or session identifiers. Analytics settings may vary by region to reflect applicable requirements, and you can review the available controls through Cookie settings in the site footer. See our Cookie Policy for more detail.

We use service providers for hosting, databases, authentication, storage, maps, location search, analytics, tag management and communications. They may process information as needed to provide those services. We may also disclose information where required by law or where reasonably necessary to protect Cheru, our users or others.

Some of our service providers may process information outside Kenya. Where this occurs, we handle the information in accordance with applicable data-protection requirements and the relevant provider arrangements.

We keep personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including account, operational, security and legal requirements.

We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or alteration. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

Subject to applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal information, and in some circumstances to receive a portable copy. To make a request, email info@cheru.co.ke. Where applicable, you may also lodge a complaint with Kenya’s Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.

Cheru is not directed to children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us without appropriate involvement from a parent or guardian, please contact us.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date and provide additional notice where appropriate.
